Work with New York Classical Theatre — NY Classical Theatre

Code of Conduct

All NY Classical employees represent the company by upholding our mission, organizational history, and IDEA values. Staff must learn and follow company policies, including the guidelines in the Employee Code of Conduct.

Board of Directors

Do you want to make a real difference to our NYC community in 2026 and beyond? Help us make Off Broadway theatre accessible for ALL New Yorkers! We are seeking motivated, passionate people to join NY Classical’s Board of Directors. Whether your love classic playwrights such as Shakespeare, or want to help redefine what it means to be a “classic” through our New Visions program, we want to hear from you. For more information email info@nyclassical.org and we’ll get back to you right away!

Actors

The best way for us to get to know your work is to join us for an EPA (Equity Principal Audition). We hold these open auditions prior to each production. They are advertised on the AEA and major trade websites.

We take these auditions seriously and Artistic Director, Stephen Burdman, and our casting liaison attends each EPA in person. Several actors from the EPA are invited to attend our principal auditions.

While we are always happy to see EMC and non-AEA actors, all performers must be willing to sign an AEA contract (joining AEA is optional). This is an equitable employment practice. Please note that all EPA rules & procedures are set by AEA and if you have specific questions, please click here.

NY Classical does not accept unsolicited headshots and/or self-tape auditions.

If you have other questions, please feel free to email auditions@nyclassical.org.

Break legs!
