Founder and Artistic Director, Stephen Burdman, began his career with great internship opportunities. With that in mind, New York Classical's internship program is designed  to give important hands-on training and experience to college students and emerging artists in the professional theatre. Positions are available in Stage Management, Costume/Wardrobe, and Production with the opportunity to attend 3-5 Master Classes taught by our Associate Artists. All interns will receive unlimited transportation (MetroCard), a dedicated Mentor, and earn Equity Membership Candidacy points (for Stage Management interns only). College credit is available. For each production we hire 8-10 interns.

My experience with New York Classical Theatre was warm and welcoming.
The company taught me what is necessary to succeed in NYC.
I felt key to the outcome of each night’s performance—new friends and connections abound! The New York Classical Internship is a must for those interested in the business.

Thanks for your interest in working with New York Classical Theatre!

The best way to get to know you and your work is to join us for an EPA (Equity Principal Audition). We hold these open auditions at the AEA Audition Center prior to each production. They are advertised on the AEA and major trade websites.

We take these auditions seriously and Artistic Director, Stephen Burdman, attends all EPAs in person.

While we are always open to seeing EMC and non-AEA actors, all EPAs regulations are set by AEA.

Unfortunately, we do not accept video submissions.

Break legs!

Volunteers are integral to New York Classical's success. If you are interested in serving on a committee, hosting a small gathering, or distributing postcards and posters around the city, please contact us at (212) 662-0760 or
