New York Classical Theatre Advisory Board
Help shape the future of free theatre in New York City
NY Classical’s Advisory Board is a small group of trusted senior partners who lend their expertise and help the growth of free, Off-Broadway theatre across New York City—ensuring that great work reaches more people, in more communities, without barriers.
What it is
The Advisory Board operates in partnership with staff, and under the leadership of, the NY Classical’s Board of Directors. It is a non-governing body and does not carry fiduciary responsibilities or voting rights.
The Advisory Board is composed of senior-level professionals, artists, civic leaders, and a diverse group of experts who believe deeply in NY Classical’s mission and want to advance it through shared expertise, connection, and advocacy.
Advisory Board members serve as thought partners and ambassadors, helping strengthen NY Classical’s visibility, partnerships, and long-term sustainability. Each member is paired with a Board Member and/or staff member for deeper collaboration.
Why this work matters
NY Classical exists to make theatre a shared civic experience—free, accessible, and embedded in the life of the city. As the organization grows, we are committed to doing so thoughtfully, in partnership with the communities we serve.
How members make an impact
Advisory Board members help NY Classical expand its reach and deepen its impact across New York City. Contributions reflect each member’s specific experience, interests, and networks, and may include:
Offering professional insight and perspective to current and future endeavors
Helping expand audiences by introducing new communities, colleagues, and networks to free, professional theatre
Identifying opportunities for mission-aligned collaboration across arts, education, civic, and private-sector organizations
Serving as connectors and advocates, amplifying NY Classical’s work and values within their spheres of influence
Supporting the organization’s long-term sustainability by helping grow the circle of supporters who make free theatre possible
